Lawrence County Boasts More Sparkling Jeep Wranglers per Snowflake This Winter
We've
had some major snow so far, and we're finally getting a break. I went
to wash my car this winter, and like every other year, I noticed a
trend. The cars in line were all little beaters, just like mine - salt,
grime, dings, the works. We're all just trying to knock off the salt
before the next snowfall, trudging on towards Spring. This made me
curious: How do the Jeep Wranglers in Lawrence County manage to stay so tidy in the winter?
I tried to think of the last time I had actually seen one at the car wash
in the winter and was surprised that I couldn't recall a single
instance. And I get that one is prone to memory lapses, but I'm a car
guy. I'm not the kind who has a Mustang or Camaro poster
hanging above my bed (although that would be freaking sweet). However, I
am an avid reader about cars, buy lots of weird vehicles to drive and
customize. I actively look at any car I can and am usually picturing it
with some absurd modification.
Don't get me wrong, I SEE Jeep Wranglers in the winter. I see them in front of me at traffic lights. I see them in the Starbucks line. I see them getting Jiffy Treat (Yes, ice-cream in the snow, I don't get it either; must be a Jeep thing). I just don't see dirty Jeeps in the winter.
I've
tried to think of why this is. Could they wash them at home? No, who's
hose actually works in this weather? Perhaps they have a secret car wash
they don't tell anyone about? That would be ridiculous; however, for a
group of people that have their own secret club with the rubber ducks and the 'Flip me over' stickers on the back, I guess anything is possible.
At night, I sit and imagine how vast the logistics must be to keep such a capable and expensive off-road vehicle clean in the winter. Could it be that they all work from home and have access to weather data
before us normal folks do? That's a slightly more realistic
possibility. But this would also raise the question of where they store
these Wranglers. Do they all have garages? There are a lot of Jeeps just in Bedford alone, and I'd hardly assume that every Wrangler owner in the county has one. Perhaps car covers?
Honestly
writing it all out has just left me with more questions like, how are
they comfortable driving with leather gloves and Ugg boots? Why do they
park in two spaces at Wal-Mart? What do they drive when they send their
Wrangler in for monthly recall work?
